Ampaire Demonstrates First Hybrid Electric Aircraft in Scotland  

Ampaire celebrated the first hybrid electric flights in Scotland recently, crossing the Pentland Firth from Kirkwall Airport on the Orkney Isles to regional airport Wick John O’Groats Airport in the north of mainland Scotland. This milestone marks the first set of demonstration flights in the UK. The trials, the first to operate on a viable regional airline route, are part of the Sustainable Aviation Test Environment project.

Hydrogen Optimized Awarded $300,000 NGIF Grant 

Hydrogen Optimized will receive $300,000 in funding from NGIF Industry Grants, a division of NGIF Capital Corporation, to optimize the operation of its unique RuggedCell ™ water electrolyzers using an unstable electrical supply. The funding will be applied to a $900,000 project to demonstrate the company's large-scale Green Hydrogen production technology under solar panel, simulated wind turbine and intermittent electrical grid conditions.

AGL and Wärtsilä Advance Frame Agreement with Energy Storage Project 

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a battery energy storage system (BESS) to AGL Energy Limited, one of Australia’s leading integrated energy companies. The 250 MW / 250 MWh system will be installed at the Torrens Island in South Australia. It will be AGL’s first grid-scale BESS project, and the second biggest in Australia. When installed, the system will support a broad portfolio of generating assets, both thermal and renewable, and help Australia to decarbonise and transition towards 100% renewable energy future. The order with Wärtsilä was booked in July 2021.
