RWE’s Cassadaga Onshore Wind Farm in Operation

RWE Renewables has started commercial operation on its 125 megawatt (MW) onshore Cassadaga Wind Farm. The project, located in Chautauqua County, is powered by 27 Nordex and 10 Siemens Gamesa turbines and has the capacity to provide clean energy for more than 37,000 households. Cassadaga is RWE’s 29th onshore wind farm in the U.S. and represents RWE’s second onshore wind project in New York.

Developer Geothermal Engineering Finds High Concentration of Lithium in Geothermal Fluid 

Geothermal Engineering Ltd (GEL), the company behind the UK’s first deep geothermal electricity power plant,has found record levels of lithium in its geothermal waters.  Recent, third party tests have revealed that there are more than 250 milligrams per litre (‘mg/L’) in the fluid which is the highest concentration ever discovered in geothermal fluids anywhere in the world.

Caterpillar to Offer Power Solutions Operating on 100% Hydrogen to Customers in 2021

Caterpillar Inc. announced that the company will begin offering Cat(r) generator sets capable of operating on 100% hydrogen, including fully renewable green hydrogen, on a designed-to-order basis in the fourth quarter of 2021. Additionally, later this year Caterpillar will launch commercially available power generation solutions from 400 kW to 4.5 MW that can be configured to operate on natural gas blended with up to 25% hydrogen.
