IRENA and the IPHE Forge Ties to Build a Green Hydrogen Economy Globally

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on issues of mutual interest that will advance green hydrogen production, transmission, storage and use globally and make a significant contribution to global net zero goals.

High efficiency CIAT heat pumps have been chosen to power a major 8.8MW river-source renewable energy project in England to help produce more fruit. CIAT is part of Carrier Global Corporation, a leading global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions. Based on five HYDROCIAT water-source heat pumps, the system harnesses thermal energy from the River Loddon, a tributary of the Thames,reducing the fruit grower’s carbon footprint and extending the growing season for its berry production business.

Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners travel further in their cars over the space of a week than those driving petrol or diesel cars, according to new research by Peugeot. In a study of 1,800 UK drivers, with a proportionate mix of electric, hybrid, petrol and diesel car owners, Peugeot found electric and plug-in hybrid owners cover on average 109 miles in their cars per week, compared to just 88 miles per week for petrol and diesel owners.
