Eavor Selects Turboden for Closed-Loop Geothermal System in Germany

Eavor, a scalable geothermal energy company, has selected Turboden for the development of their project in the South of Germany in Geretsried. This investment in Turboden’s Organic Rankine Cycle system will be used in the first commercial Eavor-Loop™ project harnessing heat from the Earth to deliver electricity to the local market.

Polar Night Energy’s first commercial sand-based high temperature heat storage is now in operation at Vatajankoski power plant area. The heat storage, which has a hundred tons of sand inside, is producing low emission district heating to the city of Kankaanpää in Western Finland.

DHL Global Forwarding and Hapag-Lloyd Sign Deal for Advanced Biofuel

DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has signed an agreement with Hapag-Lloyd, a leading worldwide liner shipping company, for the use of advanced biofuels. As an initial step, Hapag-Lloyd will ship 18,000 TEU of DHL’s volume using advanced biofuels, which is equivalent to a reduction of 14,000 tons of Well-to-Wake* CO2-emisisons. The two companies share the vision of decarbonizing container shipping and logistics. With their project, they demonstrate the scalability of sustainable transport solutions and the relevance of sustainable fuels in today's market. As pioneers, both DHL and Hapag-Lloyd are pledging for a uniform industry standard, following the insetting approach.
