Navajo Nation Finalizes Lease on 70-MW PV Project in Red Mesa Community

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, Council Delegate Charlaine Tso, and Miss Navajo Nation Shaandiin Parrish gathered together to finalize a lease agreement with Navajo Tribal Utility Authority for the development of the Red Mesa Tapaha Solar Generation Plant, which will produce 70-megawatts of emissions-free solar energy once construction is completed in the community of Red Mesa, Ariz.

Sol Systems Flips the Switch at Seven Solar Projects for Walmart

Sol Systems has announced the completion of solar energy systems totaling 6.5 megawatts (MW) at seven Walmart stores across California. The portfolio includes a mixture of solar energy systems installed on the rooftops and parking lot carports and offsets the average energy use of nearly 1000 homes.

175 MW of new UK solar deployed in first quarter of 2021

Figures released by Solar Energy UK and Solar Media Ltd show that 175 MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar capacity was installed across the UK from January – March 2021. This significant growth over the winter period brings the UK’s total installed PV capacity to more than 14 GW, generating enough electricity to power over 3 million homes

D. E. Shaw Completes Financing of 79-MW Assembly Solar III Project

 D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI), a leading provider of cost-effective renewable energy across North America, has achieved financial closing of Assembly Solar III, a 79-megawatt solar project in Lennon, Michigan. DESRI is moving forward with construction after securing both construction debt and tax equity financing for the project. 

UK pipeline for renewable energy and storage projects grows to 86GW

The latest figures from Cornwall Insight's Renewables Pipeline Tracker reveal the pipeline of renewable energy and storage projects across England, Scotland and Wales currently stands at 86 GW.
