The Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), commissioned by Mainstream Renewable Power, has revealed offshore wind will more than pay for itself in future and reap rich rewards in terms of jobs and UK GDP. 0.6% of GDP and 173,000 jobs by 2030 are the forecasts.

A revolutionary single-blade wind turbine designed for domestic use by New Zealand’s  Powerhouse Wind Limited will be developed for production and sale in partnership with Otago Polytechnic in Dundin (New Zealand), thanks to a $368,000 grant from the Ministry of Science and Innovation’s Technology Transfer Voucher scheme.
