ORE study reveals long-term UK floating wind potential

Floating offshore wind has an important role to play in supporting the development of the offshore wind supply chain and contributing to 50 GW of offshore wind in the UK according to a study conducted by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult on behalf of The Crown Estate Scotland.

Vineyard Wind Signs Agreement for New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal

Massachusetts officials have signed a lease agreement with Vineyard Wind to utilize the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal as the primary staging and deployment location for its offshore wind project to be located 14 miles south of Martha's Vineyard. Vineyard Wind, a partnership between Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, was selected in May of 2018 to provide 800 MW of offshore wind power to Massachusetts and represents 5.5-6 percent of the state's electric load.
