Gov. Northam Announces Mid-Atlantic Wind Training Alliance to Build Wind Energy Workforce in Virginia

Gov. Ralph Northam has announced the formation of Virginia’s first offshore and onshore wind workforce training collaborative, the Mid-Atlantic Wind Training Alliance. The program will offer industry required certifications that are critical to the operations and long-term maintenance of wind projects. The Governor made the announcement addressing the 2020 Offshore WINDPOWER Virtual Summit hosted by the American Wind Energy Association.

Nordic Investment Bank provides €33.5 million for Wind development

The loan will be used for the development of Pomerania Wind Farm, the first Ignitis Group project of its kind in Poland, which will consist of 29 wind turbines and have a total installed capacity of 94 MW.

Borealis Signs Agreement with Eneco

Borealis has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Eneco to source renewable electricity from Mermaid. The agreement entails the purchase and supply of over 1,000 gigawatt hours (GWh) of wind power over the next decade, with delivery to begin in January 2021.
