RWE's Scioto Ridge Wind Farm in Operation

RWE

RWE Renewables has started commercial operation on its 250 megawatt (MW) onshore Scioto Ridge Wind Farm. The project, located in Hardin and Logan Counties, is powered by 75 Siemens Gamesa turbines and represents RWE's first onshore wind project in Ohio.

Ørsted Commits to Recycling of Wind Turbine Blades

On Ørsted's Capital Markets Day, the company announced its new commitment to either reuse, recycle, or recover all of the wind turbine blades in Ørsted's global portfolio of onshore and offshore wind farms upon decommissioning. The commitment comes as a part of Ørsted's  strategy which includes a plan to expand its sustainability position and achieve a carbon-neutral footprint by 2040.

The Business Network for Offshore Wind has today published its Offshore Wind Policy Brief: The US Opportunity in Floating Offshore Wind, following President Joe Biden’s announcement of an agreement to advance areas off California’s coastline for offshore wind development. The agreement between the DOI and the DOD covers areas off California’s northern and central coasts.

Korea has set an ambitious target of installing 12 GW offshore wind capacity by 2030. In September 2020, Korean President Moon Jae-in further announced the Green New Deal which targets net zero emissions by 2050. With this MoU, Ørsted takes another significant step, in addition to the company's flagship Incheon projects, in pioneering renewable energy development in Korea and supporting Korea in the country's transition to clean energy.
