Next Steps for First Proposed Wind Energy Project Offshore North Carolina

As part of the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to creating nearly 80,000 jobs through developing 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030, the Department of the Interior today announced that the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will conduct an environmental review of a proposed wind energy project offshore North Carolina. 

Mammoet Wind Projects Support South Africa’s Renewable Energy Goals

Mammoet South Africa, a branch of the global heavy lifting and transport specialists, has supported construction of three wind farm projects in South Africa: Roggeveld, Garob and Copperton wind farms. Contracted by global logistics company Drewes Group, Mammoet’s scope for these projects included the receiving, port handling and transport to laydown area of components for 127 wind turbines – the inventory for all three sites. 

RES and Octopus Renewables sign new agreement for management of wind assets

RES and Octopus Renewables have signed a new agreement for the management of nine wind assets representing a portfolio of 234.4MW, with four of the nine sites being new to the RES portfolio and the other five a result of retendering. Takeover of the four new sites: Cour, Beinneun, Grange and Hillhead of Auquhirie is complete, and work has already started to identify asset enhancements to make the sites as efficient as possible.

Ørsted Completes Largest Onshore Wind Project to Date

Ørsted has completed the 367 MW Western Trail Wind Farm located in Wilbarger and Baylor counties, Texas - its largest onshore wind project to date that brings Ørsted's total onshore capacity to over 2.8 GW of wind, solar, and battery storage in operation.

Data Suggests Renewables on a Path to Provide 33-50% of US Electricity by 2030

An analysis conducted by the SUN DAY Campaign of data released over the past decade by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as well as near-term forecasts by both agencies suggest renewables could supply one third of US electricity generation in 2030. However, unless progress in developing renewable energy is accelerated, President Biden’s clean power goals for 2030 are likely to be missed.
