BV to deliver independent certification to the first floating wind project in the Celtic Sea

Testing, inspection and certification company Bureau Veritas (BV) has been selected to undertake the project certification of Erebus, the first offshore windfarm in the Celtic Sea, which is the area of ocean off the south coast of Ireland and including waters south of Wales and SW England.    

Contracts for Empire Wind 2 and Beacon Wind Projects are Finalized

NY Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the finalization of contracts between the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Empire Wind Offshore LLC and Beacon Wind LLC, each a 50-50 partnership between Equinor and bp, for the Empire Wind 2 and Beacon Wind offshore wind projects, representing a key milestone in the advancement of offshore wind development in New York State.

Houghton International Gives Enercon Wind Turbine New Lease of Life

In 2021, electro mechanical engineering specialist Houghton International carried out the repair and rewind of a 850kW direct drive wind turbine generator. The Enercon E48 wind turbine had been erected and commissioned in 2019 on a farm in the village of Llanwnnen in Ceridigion, Wales by Grannell Community Energy, a locally-founded Community Benefit Society. It was purchased from a wind farm in the Netherlands, where it had previously been in operation.

Pattern Energy Completes Construction of Largest Single-Phase Renewable Energy Project in U.S. History 

Pattern Energy Group LP has completed construction and begun commercial operation of its suite of Western Spirit Wind power projects. Western Spirit Wind is comprised of four wind power facilities totaling more than 1,050 megawatts (MW) located in Guadalupe, Lincoln, and Torrance Counties in central New Mexico.
