Steel Dynamics Signs PPA With NextEra Energy

Steel Dynamics, Inc. has signed a Renewable Product Purchase Agreement (RPPA) with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC for 308 megawatts of energy to be produced by a new wind farm project in Scurry County, Texas. The RPPA is the largest of its kind for the steel industry in North America. This project marks significant progress toward the company’s decarbonization goals.

PGE and Ørsted Granted New Seabed Area for Development in Baltic Sea

By the decision of Poland’s Ministry of Infrastructure PGE Group and Ørsted will be able to develop up to 210 MW on the 45.E.1 area in the Baltic Sea. The permit was issued following a joint application from PGE and Ørsted. The new seabed area is neighboring the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm which is currently under development by both companies.

Iberdrola Awards Contract to Windar Renovables for Windanker Offshore Wind Farm

Windar Renovables has signed an agreement with Iberdrola to manufacture 21 transition pieces for the Windanker offshore wind farm in German waters. This is the sixth project of this type of foundation to date.

Bute Energy submits application for the Twyn Hywel Energy Park in South Wales

Welsh renewable energy developer Bute Energy has submitted an application for a Development of National Significance for the Twyn Hywel Energy Park, on the border of Caerphilly County Borough Council and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, which will include up to 14 wind turbines generating 92.4 MW of clean, green energy, enough to power the equivalent of 81,000 households a year.
