MIT study shows huge potential for geothermal power in the United States

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has presented a study which looked at the potential to use geothermal energy as an alternative source of energy for the United States.  The study which is sponsored by the United States Department of Energy has found that a “substantial portion” of energy for electricity needed in the US could be supplied by so called heat mining at “competitive prices and minimal environmental impact.”
