The NTS, published on July 2019, sets out the minimum technical requirements to be met by the electricity generation modules (MGEs) to which EU Regulation 2016/631 applies, including wind power and solar photovoltaic plants. This standard, developed by system operators with the collaboration of the Generator Conformity Monitoring standardizes the evaluation of grid connection requirements and establishes the agents involved in the monitoring process, including accredited entities for testing and simulations.
The NTS-accreditation scope of Energy To Quality includes testing of electricity generation units and additional MGE components for obtaining equipment certificates, as well as complementary simulations to obtain the final MGE certificate, which are key milestones to obtain the Final Operational Notification.
Barlovento Recursos Naturales, through its subsidiary Energy To Quality (E2Q), specializes in carrying out electrical studies and measurement campaigns required by different national grid codes. Energy To Quality provides the simulations and tests required by the NTS and P.O.12.3 to the Spanish renewable energy sector, including LVRT testing, and has been one of the first companies to design, build and operate a specialized LVRT testing unit. The services that Energy To Quality provides cover all spectrum required by system operators.
Energy To Quality, in addition to having the capability of develop NTS-accredited tests and complementary simulations, has extensive experience in accredited testing according to different international industry regulations (FRT, energy quality, models validation, etc.) and has a broad portfolio of services for the renewable energy sector.
