There are three different types of investment opportunities offered on GridShare: debt, equity, and donations.
Accredited investors (i.e., high net-worth individuals) can browse projects online, read pertinent information about the venture, and then pledge funding in exchange for equity or interest.
Non-accredited investors can donate (without equity) in any project or company that offers this option. As soon as the JOBS Act is finalized, all users will be able to invest freely for equity online.
