Adnan Z. Amin, IRENA's Director-General, and José Javier Armendáriz, general manager of CENER, signed the Memorandum of Understanding this morning.
Its main objective is to encourage the development of renewable energy at an international level by carrying out joint projects of collaboration and by the exchanging knowledge and experience.
To fulfill these goals, the two organizations said their main areas of collaboration will be the improvement of renewable energy data and assessment methodologies; providing technical advice for the implementation of renewable energy; providing recommendations on both national and regional strategies and capacity building; exchanging information on best practices concerning renewable technologies and their implementation; and direct participation in projects such as IRENA’s Global Atlas for Solar and Wind Energy.
