Word of the plan was announced by the Middle east Solar Industry Association on Monday.
According to a written release, HE Ibrahim Seif, Jordan's minister of energy and mineral resources, said yjr new round of renewable energy projects will be enhanced by the ongoing development of the kingdom's Green Corridor project.
The initiative, being led by NEPCO-National Electric Power Co., is being built in the southern region to increase the utilities efficiency by building cables and expanding power stations to absorb the load generated by new wind and solar power projects.
It is part of the national strategy to source 10 per cent of energy from renewable sources by 2020.
