The ISO 14001:2004 standard sets out the criteria for an environmental management system, and maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective system.
The scope of registration for the Oxfordshire-based company covers the development, design, manufacture and supply of its innovative silicon anode materials for use in next generation advanced battery technologies.
“This is an issue we take very seriously”, said Steve Boyes, Commercial and Quality Manager at Nexeon. “Achievement of this important environmental standard comes right after our achievement of ISO 9001, so the whole team here at Nexeon is understandably delighted at this recognition.”
The certification provides assurance to customers, management and employees as well as to external stakeholders that Nexeon’s environmental impact is of a high standard and will be maintained. In addition, a sound environmental management system can allow savings in the consumption of energy and materials, and reduce the cost of waste management.
