The combined event is being called the World Renewable Energy Forum 2012.
Among those slated to speak are US Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General, Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dan Arvizu, Director, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Cary Kennedy, Deputy Mayor, City and County of Denver, Dennis Dimick, Executive Environment Editor, National Geographic, Edward Mazria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Architecture 2030, and Dorothy Robyn, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment, US Department of Defense.
At the same time, the conference will showcase technical presentations from universities, renewable energy laboratories, installations and industries around the world.
WREF 2012 will also examine how renewable energy technologies address the world’s economic, environmental and security challenges at every scale, from off-grid villages to gigawatt power plants.
The event will take place at the Colorado Convention Center, a LEED certified building. The Convention Center is located in downtown Denver where access to the site and nearby attractions is convenient.
