The team expects to take off at about 6:30 a.m. local time in Hawaii and to arrive at Moffett Air Field in Mountain View, California, around 9 p.m. Saturday evening.
The pilots, André Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard, began their solar-powered, 12-part journey almost a year ago.
However, after completing a record-breaking leg of their effort, flying from Nagoya, Japan to Hawaii in 4 days, 21 hours and 51 minutes, the Solar Impulse 2 was grounded due to battery damage caused by overheating.
