The annual event is comprised of a world-class summit, an international exhibition, a project village and scores of round table discussions, corporate meetings and social events.
Last year, more than 26,300 people from 137 countries attended the week-long event, including 3,600 who identified themselves as either the CEO or Managing Director of their respective companies.
Also participating were 160 keynote and expert speakers, and more than 600 exhibiting companies from 38 countries.
A similar high level of participation is expected this year, with Wen Jiabao, the Premier of China, slated to deliver the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the summit.
In addition, 25 renewable energy and clean-tech developers from Egypt, Ghana, India, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, UAE and the US have already committed to showcasing cutting-edge projects at the summit’s Project Village.
The combined value of the projects that will be on display is an estimated $4 billion.
