The centrepiece of the collaboration is the Module Condition Monitoring service, aiming to deliver oversight across the entire solar module lifecycle, from manufacturing pre-shipment audits and inspection, through to post-shipment, post installation testing, asset digitalisation, and on into lifetime operational monitoring. This will enable rigorous monitoring of 100 percent of the module population, ensuring high quality at every stage of a module lifespan.
Solar projects have, thus far, sourced disconnected services from different service providers, resulting in data gaps and value loss in the module QA scope. By converging these into a single unified service, the partnership is offering a simple transaction to drive decision making and higher quality assets.
All data will be captured through a single, integrated digital twin on Above’s SolarGain platform, ensuring an unbroken chain of custody and full traceability at every stage. This approach will provide real-time, forensic-quality data on every module’s journey, offering full batch and Bill of Materials (BOM) transparency. Customers will benefit from detailed insights and reports, ensuring their solar investments are optimised and future-proofed, with seamless handovers to operations teams upon project completion.
“By combining our complementary expertise, we are confident that this partnership will redefine solar module condition monitoring in the UK” said Will Hitchcock, CEO, Above Surveying. “The industry has long needed a turnkey service like Module Condition Monitoring to offer full traceability and quality control from the factory floor to long term operation.”
