Working with Pellucere’s MoreSun Anti-Reflective and Anti-Soiling solar coating, Alectris and Pellucere partnered to enter the Retrofit Solutions category award which is awarded to technologies capable of increasing the performance of solar PV systems already in operation, thus reducing the need for periodic maintenance.
The selection process involved more than thirty international companies, with a selection day in the final phase of the competition. An expert jury investigated the technical and practical aspects of the finalist’s solutions, evaluating innovation and efficiency to proclaim the winners.
The MoreSun coating solution helps solar modules without AR capture more light, increasing energy output from direct axis light by 3.5 to 4.1 percent and total energy output by up to 5.1 percent. The Anti-Soiling property of MoreSun - the prevention of accumulation of dirt and dust in arid environments - reduces cleaning 60-80 percent and increases energy production by an additional 3-5 percent, beyond the Anti-Reflective benefits.
With ever tighter margins in the solar industry this latest breakthrough is set to improve the profitability of solar assets across Alectris’s global customer base.
“I am very proud of this award from ENI” said Vassilis Papaeconomou, Alectris CEO. “We are focussed on achieving maximum returns for our clients and this new and innovative technology, MoreSun from our partners at Pellucere, enables us to achieve substantial gains in revenue returns and significantly improves the efficiency of our customers’ assets”.
Peter Fuss, Senior Vice President at Pellucere, added that the company has worked successfully with Alectris for a number of years and that the close collaboration has enabled the company to once again achieve outstanding results with the MoreSun coating.
