The landmark module forms part of a solar plant sponsorship package for a rooftop installation at the Foundation and was presented to Uwe Seeler during the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Hamburg (Germany).
Uwe Seeler expressed his gratitude for the gift. "I want to use my Foundation to pass on some of the good fortune I've been blessed with in my life. My efforts and sympathy are directed especially at the children and disabled persons who face an uphill challenge in our performance-focused society and who often receive little recognition or respect. Installing a solar power plant is right in line with the ideals of my Foundation and all of the money we make will flow into the Foundation – so we can enjoy the sunshine twice!"
In addition to the solar modules, aleo solar has donated the inverter and mounting frame, a display screen and data logger and is providing free installation. Jakobus Smit, CEO of aleo solar AG, highlights the fact that the sponsorship is a donation for the future: "We want to provide long-term support for the Uwe Seeler Foundation. Solar plants are ideal, since they will supply the Foundation with steady revenue for decades to come."
