In addition to Astronergy PV panels, all other key components of this project including switch gears (DC/AC), transformers and cables are manufactured and supplied by Chint Group – something the company says underscores its ability to provide “total solutions” for a solar park project.
The Golmud PV plant is expected to generate 875,000,000 kWh in 25 years and create more job opportunities contributing to local economic development.
"Providing total solution is Astronergy's core competence, and the emerging domestic market will make us commit to engaging in the downstream area,” said Alan Yuan, the company’s chief sales and marketing officer. “We look forward to further cooperation with international strategic partners in building these projects."
Astronergy has completed more than 60 MW in PV projects in China since 2009. Since the announcement of China PV Feed-In Tariff, the implementation of large utility scale PV power plants is booming fast in China.
"The launch of FIT program has transformed the China PV market into a prominent one compared with a year ago. We anticipate the total installed capacity will reach 2GW within 2011 and keep increasing in 2012," said Dr. Liyou Yang, Astronergy’s CEO.
