“Many companies have been working on it”, said Hi-Tech Wealth in a press release, referring not to their own model, but other solar phone prototypes. For example, one of Google's founders, Mr Sergey Brin, so as Mitsubishi Corporation, have shown solar mobile phones but, due to technological restrictions, these products are still in experimental phase.
Hi-Tech has overcome these restrictions through cutting-edge solar energy technology, including "eight patents property of Hi-Tech Wealth”. These technologies allow the mobile phone to charge not only with solar radiation but also with other sorts of light, such as candles'.
The new phone was shown at CeBIT2007, an international IT fairs held in Hannover, Germany. Visitors saw that, with one hour of sunlight, the phone can get up to 40 minutes of battery power, according to Xinhau, a Chinese Agency. Hi-Tech Wealth said that the product will be available in Chinese markets before the end of this month and in Europe by the fall. The estimated price will be somewhere between $400 and $500.
