The Parau 2 plant has a total capacity of 310 MW (DC), with a maximum awarded CfD capacity of 125 MW AC (150 MW DC). Econergy secured a price of 49.4 euros/MWh under a 15-year contract which is fully index-linked to ensure the long-term stability and viability of the project. The cumulative expected revenues from the project during the CFD period are estimated at approximately 447 million euros.
The Parau 2 Project is located in the Brașov region of Romania and is currently in the “licensing” phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2025 and connection in 2027.
Econergy has a strong presence in Romania, with a firm commitment to advancing renewable energy projects as part of the country’s transition to net-zero. The company has a strong pipeline across Europe, aided by technical expertise dedicated to accelerating the clean energy transition across Europe, and particularly in Romania.
With construction already progressing, Parau 2 is set to play a key role in strengthening Romania’s solar capacity and reducing carbon emissions.
In the upcoming CfD auction in 2025, in which 3,500 MW are expected to be allocated, Econergy plans to submit additional projects.
The success of Parau 2 has helped to maintain Econergy’s position as a leader in the achievement of large-scale renewable projects that are in line with European energy targets and are addressing both environmental and economic priorities.
