EDF EN Greece, a subsidiary of EDF EN Group, has entered into an agreement with Greece's Positive Energy to design and construct a 1,1 MWp photovoltaic park in the Prefecture of Fokida in Central Greece. Under the contract, Positive Energy will also supply the equipment for the facility.
According to Positive Energy, the plant will have substantial environmental benefits, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1,500 tonnes per year, similar to the amount which is produced by a 35,000-tree forest via photosynthesis each year.
“We are especially pleased to include in our portfolio one more important project. We highly value our relationship with EDF EN Greece, which puts to practice through its dynamic investment initiatives the corporation’s faith and trust in Greece’s prospects for growth; through the proper exploitation of the country’s inexhaustible natural resources," emphasised Positive Energy's CEO, Konstantinos Mavros.
Positive Energy deascribes itself as is one of the leading EPC providers in renewable energy sources solutions in Southeastern Europe. It is part of a large group of companies with more than 20 years of experience in technology and real estate development, and according to Mavros, the company aims to become "the partner of choice for multinational companies and investors acting in the Greek and Southeastern renewable energy markets".
