The connected sites total 5.3 MW and were constructed by Hitachi High Technologies, on time and to budget. When complete, Aomori will be a 9.5 MW solar project with four sites in the Aomori prefecture. The remaining two sites are expected to become fully operational by Q3 2017, generating approximately 10.7 GWh of solar electricity.
Each site is covered by a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Tohoku Electric Power utility, receiving 36 Yen per kilowatt hour (approximately $0.35 per kWh).
“We continue to make significant progress in Japan, and we are very happy to increase our installed capacity on time and on budget” said Marco A. Northland, Etrion's Chief Executive Officer. “I congratulate every stakeholder in the Aomori project for performing brilliantly.”
Etrion now has 39.3 MW of operational capacity in Japan with 17.4 MW under construction.
