Traditionally the smarter E Award, Intersolar Award and ees Award have been given out each year at the smarter E Europe exhibitions in Munich.
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, this year the prizes were awarded online via a live stream instead.
In addition to exhibitions and conferences, The smarter E Europe comprises forums, workshops and other events offering visitors, exhibitors and partners alike a chance to discuss visions and pioneering concepts surrounding the modern energy industry. The platform sets focal points and trends, advances developments and promotes an exchange of ideas between industries.
The innovative hydrogen system solution was awarded the smarter E Award in the “Smart renewable energy” category.
The Fronius Solhub is a sustainable complete solution for generating, using and storing green hydrogen from solar energy. Energy sector integration of the mobility, heating and energy sectors makes a major contribution towards the energy revolution. The international expert jury was particularly impressed by the modularity and scalability of the turnkey solution.
Fronius was then presented with the Intersolar Award – the most important award in the solar industry – for the unique Symo GEN24 Plus.
The inverter’s impressive features include simple installation and commissioning, its sustainable service concept, as well as demand-oriented back-up power variants and the innovative active cooling concept.
In addition, the maximum system efficiency in conjunction with the BYD high-voltage storage and sophisticated, sustainable design of the Symo GEN24 Plus wowed the experts.
Martin Hackl, global director Solar Energy, accepted both awards virtually, saying, “We are delighted that we were able to impress the specialist panel with our latest solar solution and our innovative hydrogen refueling station. Each is a compact solution for storing renewable energy in an efficient manner and to bring it to the heating, cooling and mobility sectors. We have thus made a big step in the direction of 24 hours of sun”
