The Soparita project, in the municipality of Vizzini, Catania province, Sicily, with a nominal capacity of 8.5 MW, represents the first plant entirely developed and managed by GreenGo as an IPP (Independent Power Producer) and one of the first application cases in Italy of advanced agrivoltaics.
GreenGo has thus far achieved a track record of 250 MW of authorised projects, including not only the permits issued but also the authorisation procedures successfully concluded at the Services Conference (Conferenza dei Servizi): 8 photovoltaic plants and a stand-alone BESS Storage plant.
An additional 156 MW of solar power that have already obtained positive EIAs and will reach RTB in the first half of 2024.
“We have been waiting for this moment with trepidation” said Fabio Amico, Business Development Director and member of GreenGo's Board of Directors. “We were among the first to believe in advanced agrivoltaics, proposing the first projects with tracking systems at a height of more than two metres above ground level as early as 2021 to allow for the widest compatibility with agricultural production. Today, thanks to the final approval of the PNRR's Call for Proposals for advanced agri-voltaics by the EU, we have gained an interesting competitive advantage on our RTB Ready to Build projects.”
