The Intersolar AWARD 2009
For the second year running, the organisers in conjunction with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW Solar) presented the Intersolar AWARD, which is announced annually by an independent jury in the categories of 'photovoltaics' and 'solar thermal technology' for pioneering products and services in the industry. Awards are given in recognition of innovative, groundbreaking products and services in PV and solar thermal technology. This year's Intersolar AWARD was also supported by the German Minister of Economics and Technology, Dr. Karl-Theodor Freiherr zu Guttenberg, who, as patron of the award, underlined the importance of innovative companies for the future of the international solar industry.
“The large number of high-quality entries made it particularly difficult for the jury to select this year's most innovative products and services. The high quality of the entries clearly demonstrates that the solar industry continues to be one of the most important drivers of international innovation. The large number of innovations as well as the general success of the trade show underline the status of Intersolar as the industry's number one international marketplace. In addition to the AWARD winners, many other companies have also presented innovations at Intersolar this year,” commented Carsten Körnig, CEO of the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar).
Aerowest GmbH, National Semiconductor Corp. and SOLON SE most impressed the jury with their entries in the PV category, while the AWARD in the solar thermal technology category went to NEP Solar Pty Ltd, RESOL – Elektronische Regelungen GmbH and Ritter Energie- und Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co. KG. As the winners were announced on the first day of Intersolar, they were able to benefit from a high degree of visitor and media interest throughout the show.
