ISES has recently announced that its next biennial Solar World Congress (SWC) will be held this year in New Delhi, India, Oct. 30 - Nov. 4 2023 at the Ashok Hotel. The theme for this year's Congress is "Moving the world towards 100% renewable energy."
India is a major player in the global energy economy, being the third largest energy consuming country worldwide. Solar energy has proven an essential role in India for the energy transition and further holds a great potential for the country to meet its ambitious renewable energy targets: net zero emissions by 2070, and meeting fifty percent of its electricity requirements from renewable sources by 2030. India has demonstrated remarkable global leadership in solar energy development on a national and global level. ISES is thrilled to have its Solar World Congress 2023 take place in India.
Key supporters representing international organizations as well as organizations actively involved in solar energy research and development within India have already committed to work with ISES in making this year's Congress a very successful and impactful event. ISES is especially pleased to be working with renowned Indian organizations such as the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), the Solar Thermal Federation of India (STFI), and the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI).
Attending the Congress provides the opportunity for researchers and practitioners to present their most recent work, including lessons learned, case studies, and best practices. Congress attendees will have the opportunity to meet other researchers, developers and industry and government representatives, and to become inspired and motivated to continue moving the world towards 100% renewable energy.
The Congress program will include distinguished plenary and keynote speakers, technical oral and poster sessions, workshops, technical tours, dedicated events for young researchers and social events, with plenty of opportunity to network, meet old friends and make new ones.
ISES has just announced that the call for participation for the Solar World Congress 2023 has been launched. This provides details on the various ways attendees can contribute to the Congress program. These contributions can be as part of the Technical Program in the form of presentation and publication of research results either orally or through a poster display, and in organizing and holding 90-minute side event sessions or forums that focus on specific topical areas of interest to manufacturers, developers, decision-makers and researchers.
Abstracts addressing one or more of the 13 Congress themes must be submitted by April 27, 2023. The abstracts will be reviewed by a Scientific Committee. Authors of accepted abstracts will then be invited to submit a full paper, which will be presented as part of the Technical Program at the SWC 2023 either orally or as a poster display. These accepted papers will also be published in the Congress Proceedings with an individual Digital Object Identifier, DOI.
A selected number of the highest quality papers from each theme of the SWC 2023 will be invited to be submitted, peer reviewed and published in the renowned ISES scientific journal, Solar Energy Advances.
Side event applications should also be submitted by April 27. These applications will be reviewed by the International Organizing Committee.
