The trade delegation aimed to strengthen London’s economic and commercial ties to technology companies and business leaders. SolarEdge is one of the largest global inverter companies and its Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy, Mr Lior Handelsman, was invited by the Mayor to discuss the future of the UK solar market. The UK is currently estimated to be the largest PV market in Europe and one of the top five PV markets in the world.
SolarEdge has been active in the UK since 2010 and its inverters are incorporated into thousands of PV installations on domestic and commercial rooftops throughout the UK, including a recent 1.68MW installation on top of the Western International Market, which is one of the largest rooftop installation in London.
“The trade mission was a fantastic chance to promote London as a thriving tech city and an opportunity to encourage lasting partnerships with some of Israel’s most innovative and creative minds” said Boris Johnson. “I want to shine a light on London’s home grown tech talent and strengthen our ties with companies like SolarEdge.”
Mr Handelsman added that the UK PV market is important to the entire industry and that in order for it to continue its success and growth, market stability is essential.
SolarEdge is extending its product offering to include smart energy management and storage solutions, which will help to maintain the financial attractiveness of the local PV market.
