Having previously installed over 8,000 projects globally, Wirsol sees the UK rooftop market as a long-term cornerstone for growth as RO legislation changes with an increased focus on rooftop deployment and energy storage.
“We are pleased to announce the merger with Bluesky, the team have a strong background within the PV Rooftop Sector which coupled with the strength of WIRSOL’s history and ability to deploy will enable the business to grow significantly over coming months and years,” said Peter Vest, Managing Director of WIRCON, in a written statement.
“WIRSOL have already made significant steps in Germany with the recent announcement of our exclusive arrangement with EnBW, this merger with Bluesky further endorses our commitment to the sector and specifically the UK market,” Vest said.
Lee Walton, Managing Director of Bluesky, added “We could not be happier with the merger with WIRSOL as an integrated division of the WIRCON Group. As legislation moves toward rooftop and energy storage we are well placed within the WIRCON Group, their teams have built thousands of projects and one of the largest multi MW rooftop installations in Europe (8.1MW), our team can now address opportunities from 2kW to 8MW as they successfully do in Germany.
"We have the financial muscle to tackle large scale commercial installations which were previously precluded due to our size; this is now a problem of the past," Walton continued. "Our respective company’s history, the shareholder commitment and the ongoing investments will enable us to build on our already sizeable pipeline.”
