The Photovoltaic material is being supplied by Onyx Solar. It consists of triple-laminated glass, will have a 20 percent transparency level, and a total installed power of 38 kWp.
The $43.5 million project, located at Dubai's Zabeel Park, consists of two 492-foot towers, connected by a 328-foot bridge where visitors will be able to take snapshots -- and selfies, no doubt -- capturing the city’s panoramic view.
A cafe will also be available at the top.
The last phase in Dubai Frame’s construction includes paneling the entire structure with the photovoltaic tiles.
Once opened to the public, visitors will have access to the museum located on the ground floor, which is set to showcase artifacts representing new and old Dubai, and will be equipped with multimedia presentations. The project is expected to attract 2 million visitors a year.
