The 96.2 MW (DC) Hosoe solar pv plant will be located on Kyushu Island and is set to be one of the largest solar power plants in Japan. It is expected to be capable of generating clean energy for up to 30,000 households, achieving annual carbon emissions savings of 68,200 tons.

In order to enhance the plants efficiency, the developer of the project, Pacifico Energy K.K., has selected Brilliance inverters supplied by GE Power Conversion which will also be supplying transformers, Ring Main Units and Recombiners, all of which will be preassembled and optimised for flawless integration. GE will also be providing a 20-year Long Term Services Agreement (LTSA), including an availability guarantee on the inverter equipment.
GE Energy Financial Services has supported the project with equity invested in March and has similarly supported two other Pacifico Energy projects in Japan - Kumeana and Mimasaka Musashi - to help the country meet its target to generate 20 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.
