The entire manufacturing line is being produced and assembled in-house by Heliene Europe’s sister company SAP (Sistemas de Automatizacion de Procesos), while the experience accumulated in Heliene’s Spanish plant is being capitalised to improve the flexibility of the equipment being prepared for the new plant in Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario; a city once best known for its steel.
Heliene will produce PV modules in Sault Ste. Marie for distribution to Canada and the United States. Boasting a state-of-the-art, highly automated process, capable of making individual panels that can generate as much as 400 watts, Heliene intends to bring competitive products and services to the emerging solar energy field.
“The search for competitiveness has led us to design a manufacturing process with a high degree of automation that enables long-term sustainability,” it said in a recent press release.
A building to host the manufacturing facility is under construction and the equipment to assemble PV modules is on its way. Heliene’s plan is to have the line up running by August 2010.
