The plant will become Spain's second thin film factory, after T-Solar Global-Isolux Corsán, currently under construction in Ourense (NorthWest Spain). The new plant will be built in the TecnoBahía Business Park, and will require an investment of 148 million euros. The project will receive a regional government subsidy of 14.6 million euros.
The facility will boast an area of 22,500 sq meters, and it will have two production lines. The total production capacity has not been announced yet.
The project is part of the Andalusian Government's Business Development Incentive Program, passed in the region last May. The initiative will also allocate 19.3 million euros for the extension and upgrade of Isofotón's module production processes, with a global investment amounting to 182 million euros.
