The first solar farm has already entered operation, while the other two are currently under construction and set to go live in June 2025. The facilities will feature close to 75,000 ground-mounted solar panels, providing clean electricity to approximately 12,000 households.
The solar farms will have a mix of revenue streams, including a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Stadtwerke Tübingen and an EEG feed-in tariff. The finance framework’s flexible structure enables Ampyr Solar Europe to quickly fund up to 250 MW of future solar and BESS projects in Germany – helping to accelerate site development.
“We’re delighted to build upon our successful partnership with Ampyr Solar Europe by delivering finance for their latest project – the Gorgast solar cluster in Germany” said Corinna Tiesch, Director at NORD/LB. “Solar power is a foundational pillar of the renewable energy mix, and we look forward to working with Ampyr Solar Europe in developing future projects that drive the country’s PV ambitions.”
Under the flagship Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (EEG), Germany aims to increase its solar capacity to 215 GW by 2030 and 400 GW by 2040. The Gorgast solar cluster will play its part in enabling Germany to meet these ambitious targets.
“This facility will allow Ampyr Solar Europe to bring the Gorgast cluster to market, and will support the construction and operation of a further 200 MWp German solar PV and BESS pipeline in the near future” added Ampyr Solar Europe’s CEO Tarun Agrawal.
