The Danish solar energy company Nordic Solar has signed a partnership agreement with Helios Nordic Energy on the development and establishment of four solar parks in southern Sweden. The four solar parks will generate energy for private consumers or businesses equivalent to the consumption of 44,000 private households.
Nordic Solar, which develops, builds and operates solar parks on an industrial scale in now 12 European countries, is pleased to establish itself in a neighbouring country with a strong local partner.
“We are experiencing a huge demand for green energy, and the accelerated transition from fossil fuels to green en-ergy, not least in Scandinavia, has created a vacuum that requires significant and rapidly increasing generation capac-ity. Therefore, we are pleased to add four brand new solar parks in the South Swedish region to be developed by He-lios Nordic Energy, a strong Swedish project developer,” says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar.
Helios Nordic Energy, which will be developing the solar parks, looks forward to partnering with Nordic Solar.
“The entire Helios team is pleased to enter this partnership with Nordic Solar, which is a great match to Helios Nordic Energy both in terms of ambitions and competencies. We look forward to collaborating on providing Southern Sweden with an increasing amount of sustainable electricity for the benefit of both Swedish electricity customers and the climate,” says Andreas Tunbjer, Managing Director of Helios Nordic Energy AB.
The solar parks in southern Sweden are expected to be completed in respectively 2023, 2024 and 2025.
