The aim of the Alliance is to develop the solar industry and markets worldwide; engendering collaboration and exchange of information among the professional community; as well as raising consciousness of the benefits of solar to the general public and political decision makers.
The Alliance will establish an effective dialogue and education platform for the international solar industry and act as a catalyst for the development of new and emerging markets for solar technologies.
“We are very delighted and honoured to be involved in the Global Solar Alliance, which highlights collaboration and resources integration. We firmly believe this platform will bring win-win outcome to all our partner events and thus help our exhibitors and participants achieve maximum results by participating in these events.” said Mdm Yue Mi, Executive Vice Chairman of SNEIA.
The impact of the Global Solar Alliance is underscored by the influence of the combined annual shows of the three founding members:
• 500,000 square metres of exhibition space
• 5,000 exhibitors
• 300,000 attendees
By combining their resources, the founding members will play a leadership role in generating new ideas and opportunities to support the global solar market, with benefits for solar companies and consumers alike.
“Over the past eight years, the strong partnership between the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), has allowed us to build Solar Power International into a powerhouse conference and tradeshow for the energy community in the US and around the world,” said Julia Hamm and Rhone Resch, heads of SEPA and SEIA. “We are excited to enter into this global partnership that will enable our exhibitors and attendees to work through one set of partner events that cover the world and will provide unprecedented business development opportunities across three continents and beyond.”
The Alliance was officially announced on y May 2012, in Verona, Italy, during the 4th Italian PV Summit, two days before the opening of the 13th edition of Solarexpo.
“We are very enthusiastic about being one of the founders of this important project and we look forward to working together with our Chinese and American partners for the development of the numerous initiatives the GSA will be planning for the near future,” said Massimiliano Cecchin, Chief Business Development Officer of Solarexpo. “Our commitment is reinforced by the strong belief in the higher mission of the Global Solar Alliance which is to spread awareness and educate about the countless opportunities that solar technologies have to offer, particularly in new and emerging markets.”
