The photovoltaic array will be built on approximately 200,000 square metres of land in Northern Greece, in the region of Drama. It will consist of Conergy PowerPlus photovoltaic panels and Conergy CIS 540 S type central inverters. It is estimated that it will produce over 7,100,000kWh per annum.
The project will commence in June 2010 and is expected to be commissioned before the end of the year. Its developers report that the plant will have substantial environmental benefits, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 7,000 tonnes per annum, equivalent to the capacity of a 350,000 tree forest.
The Bank of Cyprus is the chief lender of this project, demonstrated its continuing support for green investments.
