PV CYCLE, the take-back and recycling scheme for all types of PV technologies in Europe, has appointed Ilaria D’Angelo as Country Manager and first Italian employee of recently created PV CYCLE Italia Srl.Ms D’Angelo will have responsibility for legal compliance activities in Italy and will coordinate all national business development projects in close cooperation with the Brussels-based headquarters.
Before joining PV CYCLE Italia in October 2012, Ms D’Angelo served as Environmental Compliance Manager for one of the leading WEEE schemes in Italy and had previously worked as a consultant on environmental, health & safety issues.
“Ms D’Angelo brings to PV CYCLE significant expertise in the Italian waste environment, together with an established network in this field, and will help our organization continue its successful path in transforming a voluntary industry initiative into a recognized and commercially adept take-back and recycling scheme for PV modules in Italy,” explained Jan Clyncke, Managing Director of PV CYCLE.
Based at the newly created Italian office, Ms D’Angelo will build on PV CYCLE’s existing infrastructure in Italy. As today’s only fully functional take-back and recycling scheme for PV modules, PV CYCLE has collected and recycled some 700 tonnes of end-of-life PV modules in Italy to date.
With a view to strengthening its national presence and its ability to respond to local requirements, in June 2012 PV CYCLE announced the establishment of an Italian country office. Created in August 2012, PV CYCLE Italia Srl will enable the organization to respond more quickly to the requests of its members and their customers in Italy, and will play a central role in contributing to legal and operational developments in this important PV market.
