Oregon-based PV Trackers has announced the launch of its PVT 6.0DX dual axis tracker, a technology-neutral solar tracker that the company explains “allows customers to choose their own panel and inverter solutions, up to 6 kW per tracker”.
According to the company, the tracker maximises energy production by using proprietary software for the most accurate tracking in the industry. The PVT 6.0DX is designed to withstand the harshest environments and can generate up to 40% more energy over fixed tilt racks. It is a self-powered, low-energy use tracker that can be installed and producing power 80% faster than the closest competition. “This translates into the lowest cost per kWh of energy production for large-scale solar projects,” state the company.
To date, foreign companies have dominated the US solar PV tracker landscape with what PV Trackers describe as “expensive and mechanically challenging tracking devices”, sending profits and jobs overseas. With the release of the PVT 6.0DX, PV Trackers believe American energy companies now have a reliable locally-produced tracking solution.
The PV Trackers team works closely with integrators to maximise energy output and minimize costs and is responsible for over 350 MW of renewable energy installations around the globe. It currently has a series of projects using the PVT 6.0DX in various stages of installation throughout the West Coast of the USA.
