Representatives of REC will be present at booth S.2135 where they will be available to discuss innovative and affordable solar electricity solutions as well as presenting the company’s industry-leading REC Partner Programme for distributors and project developers and the REC Solar Professional Programme for installers.

REC has already installed and sold more than 45MW in the UK with its partners and is witnessing a growing demand for large-scale solar power plants as well as 50kW to 1MW commercial installations. The growing popularity of solar is being driven in part by increasing electricity costs while solar electricity tends to protect consumers by providing a stable and secure source of power. Consequently solar is quickly becoming a vital part of the UK’s energy mix.
REC has positioned itself very well to meet this demand, particularly with the introduction of its high-performing REC Peak Energy Series solar panels with long-term product quality and ability to meet energy yield requirements, which are key criteria for commercial solar installations.
Costs for solar electricity are also tending to decline in comparison with other renewable energy technologies with the average price of solar now being 80 percent less than it was in 2007. This makes the technology an economically viable power source across the UK. Even in areas with low solar irradiation, REC panels have tended to perform well offering a high output. The favourable price for solar compares with wind energy which achieved a cost reduction of 17 percent in the same time frame. This makes the investment outlook for solar in the near future very promising.
