The agreement will help Solar Frontier build a comprehensive European distribution network, after already having established residential markets in Japan, Germany, and Australia, and utility-scale markets in South East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
“We have signed our first distribution agreement in Italy with DW Europe, and are all the more excited about Italian and Mediterranean markets despite feed-in tariff uncertainties,” said Wolfgang Lange, managing director of Solar Frontier.
“We look forward to DW Europe’s customers experiencing the advantages of CIS modules that are both efficient and ecological regardless of whether they will be rooftop installations for personal use or installed for commercial purposes,” he continued. “We look forward to a long partnership with DW Europe with great confidence in both companies’ success.”
The solar modules will be produced at Solar Frontier’s factory in Japan. It is currently the largest CIS factory in the world with a gigawatt-scale production capacity.
Solar Frontier said the factory’s size allows it to offer a product that is economically and ecologically valuable.
“Solar Frontier’s thin-film modules completely convinced us,’ said Enrico Tonduti, sole director of DW Europe. “The efficiency and dependability we can expect from Solar Frontier give us great confidence, and our customers can have further ecological peace of mind as Solar Frontier’s panels are cadmium-free. Solar Frontier’s sales team has come to the Italian market well-prepared as a knowledgeable and dependable consultant to our team.”
