Solaredge will be showcasing its next-generation power optimiser at Intersolar North America 2017 in . The optimiser is smaller but has a higher power density and offers a more extensive PV safety solution. The company will also be presenting larger capacity, three-phase inverters of up to 100kW. The new inverters have been designed to enable reduced installation time and cost, while also providing smart energy management control, based on SolarEdge’s track record of optimising commercial-scale PV systems.
The new S-Series power optimiser was an Intersolar Award Finalist in the Photovoltaics category and is on the cutting-edge of PV safety and module-level power electronics. It has up to 40 percent higher power density, is 38 percent smaller, and introduces a new innovative safety feature that extends safety to the connector level. This is designed to detect heat abnormalities and initiate shutdown before an arc occurs in order to prevent potential fires. The S-Series power optimiser is expected to be available in 2018.
Since beginning commercial shipments in 2010, SolarEdge has shipped approximately 4.7 GW of its DC optimised inverter systems and products have been installed in solar PV systems in 100 countries. The SolarEdge system consists of power optimisers, inverters, home energy management, storage solutions, and a cloud-based monitoring platform. These solutions address a broad range of solar market segments, from residential solar installations to commercial and small utility-scale solar installations.
The company will also be unveiling a new and exciting product at the show at booth #9421.
