Intersolar Europe 2012 hosted its fifth awards ceremony last Wednesday 13 June. The industry-renowned Intersolar AWARD is given out each year by an independent panel of judges to honour solar companies for innovative ideas and technological breakthroughs.
The award categories for the pioneering products and services are: Photovoltaics, Solar Thermal Technologies and PV Production Technologies (in cooperation with SEMI PV Group). Exhibitors at Intersolar Europe, Intersolar North America, Intersolar India and Intersolar China were all eligible to compete for the Intersolar Award. This means that more than 3,000 companies are called upon to prove their innovative power.
In the case of SolarEdge, the distinguished award was received for its next generation power optimiser featuring the new IndOPTM technology.
The power optimizer is designed utilising a new set of semiconductor chips, developed by SolarEdge, which allow for a much smaller product with increased reliability, durability and efficiency. According to the company this brings added benefits such as increased safety and module-level PV monitoring which will ultimately allow for broader market adoption of power optimisers.
