Solarig will act as general contractor for the projects, being responsible for the construction including design, engineering and works management until the systems are connected to the grid. It will also operate and maintain the plants once built, adding to the existing 22 MW of PV assets that the company has already developed and now operates.
The technologies chosen will be fixed structure systems with mono or polycrystalline modules and 500 kW inverters, which has proven to be reliable and with less environmental impact than those systems based on large tracking systems.
HSBC Environmental Infrastructure Fund and Solarig believe that there are substantial political, economic and environmental drivers creating compelling investment opportunities in the development of solar PV projects across these regions.
